Meet Barry Lawson Williams
Managing General Partner
Barry L. Williams is the retired Managing General Partner of the investment and consulting firm, Williams Pacific Ventures (WPV), which focuses on corporate startups, acquisitions, and real estate. He is considered one of the most knowledgeable executive thought-leaders on the subject of board policy formulation and challenges facing minorities and women directors in corporate governance. Williams formerly served on the boards of 14 major public companies across a range of industries.
Williams is a graduate of Harvard University where he received his A.B. degree in government with honors in 1966. He completed his M.B.A and J.D. degrees in 1971 and remains a member of the California Bar.
Williams’ professional career spans four decades including his assignment as Management Consultant at McKinsey and Company and executive stints at Bechtel Group where he served as corporate secretary. In addition, he has held a range of Executive appointments with other Fortune 500 corporate organizations in various senior leadership roles. He is formerly CEO of the American Management Association and he is a visiting instructor on entrepreneurship at the Haas Graduate School of Business at the University of California Berkeley.
